12 – 13 November, 2025
The BioPackMan consortium gathered in Milan, Italy, for the project’s first General Assembly, marking six months since the official launch of the initiative.
The meeting was hosted by Bolton and beWarrant – Tinexta Innovation Hub at the Palazzo Vetra headquarters of the italian company Tinexta Innovation Hub and brought together representatives from all partners across Europe. The two-day event offered a shared space to review technical progress, discuss cross-WP collaboration, and align on priorities for the upcoming months.
Over two days, partners reviewed the scientific, technical and organisational progress achieved since the project’s launch. Presentations covered advancements in the development of biodegradable and recyclable materials, smart bio-additives, digital modelling tools, biodegradability assessment, circular design principles and the early implementation of the project’s case studies.
Several partners, includingthe project’s coordinator National Technical University of Athens and various others like Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón, Bolton, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and EXUS AI, contributed updates on their research and technical activities, offering a clear picture of the collaborative work underpinning BioPackMan’s multidisciplinary approach.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to strengthen coordination between work packages, address cross-cutting challenges and jointly plan the next steps. Discussions highlighted the importance of integrating scientific development with industrial validation and of maintaining strong communication channels across the consortium to ensure efficient progress throughout the coming months.
On the second day, Bolton welcomed the consortium to its facilities, where partners continued discussions and had the opportunity to visit the industrial site. The visit offered valuable insights into real production environments and helped reinforce the connection between laboratory research, material development and future industrial applications within BioPackMan.
