BioPackMan was presented at the ISMAC – Innovación Sostenible: Materiales y Circularidad workshop, organised by ITA – Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón and held in Zaragoza.
The event brought together more than 60 representatives from companies, research centres and universities to discuss innovation in bio-based materials and the role of circularity in reducing plastic use.
During the workshop, ITA introduced the BioPackMan project, highlighting its goal of developing biodegradable, recyclable and high-performance packaging materials. The presentation outlined how the project aims to match the performance of conventional plastics while significantly reducing environmental impact through advanced design of biodegradable polyesters and sustainable additives. BioPackMan’s approach, grounded in eco-design and full value-chain collaboration, was shared with attendees as an example of ongoing European efforts toward more sustainable packaging solutions.
Alongside BioPackMan, ITA also presented other ongoing initiatives in advanced materials and sustainability, showcasing the growing momentum around circular and bio-based material innovation.
The event provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration across Europe’s materials and packaging community and to increase awareness of BioPackMan’s objectives and expected impact.
